Our bikes are back from Berlin Bicycle Shop, all tuned up and repaired and ready to go. Candice has two new custom-built wheels, since she wore out the old ones braking on the downhills! Michael has one new wheel and both of us have some new gears, all set up for the mountains. Bruce the amazing bicycle mechanic knows touring well and has replaced all the worn and broken parts that would surely give us trouble at the most inconvenient times.
Donna, the former dogsitter now neonatologist, will be staying at our house all summer, which is a great relief.
Michael turns sixty-two on April 9th, and will start to collect Social Security benefits. That will take care of our daily expenses on the road.
Michael has taken advantage of the recent warm weather to ride a bit. Candice plans to start riding soon, maybe to work.

Hmm, Candice, did you actually ride to work? I remember that I walked to school at Conn only ONE time, though I had planned to do so seeing as it was so close!XO, Ma
ReplyDeleteYes, I've ridden to work a few times. Nowhere near enough to make a difference in my condition, though.
