Riding West to go East.

We can't get away with much with all of you keeping an eye on us. We did, in fact, ride west today. The route takes us along the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, which is southwest of Mackinaw City, where we crossed back from the Upper Peninsula, or UP, as they call it here. So we had to backtrack some. Next, we'll be riding mostly south.
Yesterday, we rode until well after dark, about 65 miles, since we were already on the bike path. We got a campsite at the Petosky State Park, which was all sand, very slanted, and surrouded by poison ivy. We managed to set up in the pitch dark and went right to sleep.
Today, since it was very hot and steamy, we only rode 23 miles and are staying in a motel in Charlevoix.
