What a splendid day!

Candice started the day with a great pot of tea on the front porch of the Kent House B&B in Port Colborne, Ontario, while attempting unsuccessfully to blog. There have been very few blogging opportunities in Ontario, and I know that some of you worry. Michael started with coffee in bed, as he does whenever he gets the chance. We ate a good breakfast, including local jam, with Gillian, the owner, and her cousin Michael, who is visiting her from Worstershire, England.
Afther talking with them, we got off to our usual late start and crossed the lift bridge that we had watched in operation the day before. There, we got on the Friendship Trail, which took us the whole 18 miles to Fort Erie. We studied maps and signs and eventually found our way onto the sidewalk which we rode over the Peace Bridge to Buffalo. We rode on past the huge line of cars and trucks in our own special Customs line. When we reached Customs, we pushed a bell and an agent called us in within 2 minutes, "But leave the bikes outside!"
"Where are you traveling from?"
"Anacortes, Washington."
"On your bikes all the way across the continent?"
"Yup."
"Really."
"Really."
And then he asked the usual questions. So we beat the Customs agent at keeping a straight face.

  2. (Corrected spelling) Dad chuckled at this, along with Brian our Cadet who was here to secure his motor last evening. I guess we are having just a storm later today. Good. Keep us posted on TOA. How about a family picnic at some roadside park near Durham to welcome you back? Good idea or not? Keep on truckin' and have a safe ride home. Love, Mother
