BIG Climb

Today started in Republic. Getting started in the morning is always a bit of an ordeal, but once we were on the road, we felt great. The rest day really made a difference.
We started climbing as soon as we left town, and it didn't stop for18 miles. Sherman Pass was the last for now, and also the highest at 5575'. It was really cold at the pass, a windy 42, but it was not sleeting. We added layers of clothes and then rode the 26 miles straight down beside the raging Sherman Creek and got a campsite at Kettle Falls on the Columbia River.
