Yesterday was gorgeous, climbing through the Cascades on Route 20 (with about 1/2 mile of downhill) with NO RAIN. We stopped and made camp at milepost 150 after 20 miles. Our campsite is about 50 feet off the road, by a stream, naturally, in a grove of HUGE evergreens. Not a campground, but obviously others have camped here. I used my water purification tablets to refill our water bottles and made supper and went to bed.
This morning, June 4, we woke up to, you guesed it, RAIN. So we are sitting in the tent hoping it stops soon.
