We're back

What a day! We started at the campsite in the rain and continued to ride up the mountains. By the time we got to the passes, Rainy Pass and Washington Pass, the rain had turned to sleety snow. We got drenched and exhausted and frozen, and finally started back down. Michael immediately got a flat tire and changed it with the help of a passing bike tourist, Brian, while Candice rode on with Brian's wife Kristin. We are spending the night at the Mazama Country Inn, which has Wi-Fi, a good restaurant, real beds, and hot showers. We ate dinner with Brian and Kristin and two touring brothers whom we also met on the road, Harry and Curt. Now to bed.

  1. A bed and a hot shower must feel nice.

  2. Great to see you back! You two are quite hardy.

We pick up May from school tomorrow -- we'll pass on news of her first friend's adventures.

  3. Oh, good. Yes, I worried a good bit but interspersed such with much fun with the GA Weigles and Kael now in our household. Today is the Firehouse party in occasional showers. We got the rolator and will use it there. We've had the air conditioner on once and maybe today too. Sounds like you met more nice folks. Does going back mean you retrace your steps today? I'll try the Longitude now. XXOO< Mom

  4. Getting hardier all the time.
No, we never retrace if we can help it. I just meant we are back in contact.
